I am an amateur at this. My profession is as a database administrator and finance person. I am an analytical type, but poetry fulfills a need that I cannot satisfy any other way. It is my way of expressing feelings about things I have witnessed or events I have experienced, so that I can release the event and let it go. One truth I absolutely believe to be true, is that poets are not born, they are the product of events that have happened to them.
