The Chase

by James Zealy

The chase begins yet never ends
Seeking round and round
For Dreams to come true
Wings of passion fly into eternity

Hope aspires to resolve anxiety
But cannot appease desolation
A promise of love unbroken
Emotions undefineable

A bittersweet fantasy
Intrigue flies amid a maze of uncertainty
Clouded by a heart's desire
Burning an eternal flame of hope

Life driven by dreams
Enhanced by possibilities
Here or in the hereafter
Of some unfinished need

Beliefs are immortal
Something more has to be
Life rolls by patiently waiting
Time an illusion that disguises destiny

Wishes are the forbidden fruit
Small glimpses but never tasted
A flash of what could be
Yet never is

Beyond reality a new canvase is created
Painted by those who need the chance
Maybe now maybe never
As the chase continues for all time

Author's Note: I think all of us at some point have wished for someone or something we cannot have. Feeling wanted and loved is not an easy emotion to fill.

Yes, we have all wished for things that we cannot have. Doesn't mean that we can never obtain them, but the road may be a little longer. I look forward to reading more of your work James :)

Feeling wanted and loved is definitely not easy if one is committed to a relationship that does not fill the void. And freeing oneself from that dysfunctional relationship often creates an unwanted flurry of other challenges that can be just as difficult. I can so relate.
