Christian Poets

Christian Poets is a pathetic.org Poetry Group created by Gavin M. Roy as a refuge from what can be considered some of the more secular topics on pathetic.org. With a focus on Christ and their walk with God, the Christian Poets group is a circle of poets whos works will often try to focus on Him. Our group is open to all denominations of Christians, and has open arms to all those who are seeking the truth.

Winner of the 1st Christian Poets Poetry Challenge - 05/24/2003
by Gavin M Roy

I didn't think it would be as hard to judge this contest as it was. All entries deserved to win, but since there can be only one, I've selected Jeanne Marie Hoffman's "A Simple Prayer." Congratulations go out to all for their fine entries.

Poetry Challenge - 05/06/2003
by Gavin M Roy

Since this is supposed to be a poetry circle and not a social circle, lets get off our laurels and write some poetry that lifts Him up! Let’s make it a contest even. I’ll send a pathetic.org T-Shirt to the best poem written after today and before say, next Friday. I will judge the poems, and I’ll be nice, I promise, lest you judge mine ;) So what do you say? Get those pens in worship mode!

Bible Study - 03/29/2003
by Gavin M Roy

Starting next week we will commence a weekly bible study with the intent to grow in the word and to provide the opportunity for it to inspire new directions in our poetry.

Greetings - 03/02/2003
by Gavin M Roy

Welcome to our little refuge from the sometimes overwhelming content here on pathetic. While I’m tolerant of many things I don’t like on the site, those same things often drive me away from wanting to do more for the site, so this project (the groups one) was a way for me to try and do something that betters the site and makes it align more closely with my values and beliefs, without kicking most of the people off. Maybe God can use us and this a mission to bring others to Him. Anyway I just wanted to say thank you, and hope that we can use this to encourage each other in His word, and to do His will.
