Skybluepink

by JD Clay

Masterpieces painted for everyone to see
Celestial space united astronomically
Portraits of a place in time that magically appear
Where visions hopes and dreams wash away our fear
This pallette overhead transforms when you blink
Sometimes purple often red I call it skybluepink

Colors blending beautifully heavens perfect hue
It can take your breath away this captivating view
Spread your wings fly away amongst the cirrus clouds
Float upon the trade winds wrapped in brilliant shrouds
If you set your mind free you're closer than you think
Soar up to the Heavens and paint them skybluepink

Sometimes I contemplate the how the why and when
Wondering what it would be like this empyrean
Suppose I rode a sunbeam hung on for the ride
Will I change forever and take it all in stride
Could I hear the Angels sing see them nod and wink
Would it be utopia this world of skybluepink

The sun becomes a fireball sinks into the sea
You can almost hear it sizzle hot as it could be
Before this mural fades away transforming to a ghost
Surround yourself with loved ones then propose a toast
Pour the sky into a cup then take a hearty drink
Soak up all the majesty and dream in skybluepink

Simply beautiful. Took me away from this cold, drizzling night. Excellent writing.

Jadi, Jadi, it has been a year or more since I read this last, and now I realize what I've been missing. What a blessing, this manifest destiny of humanity, that when I wiped the tears from my eyes and, vision un-blurred, looked up, could see the skybluepink spread endlessly before me, just a sigh and a smile away from my yearning fingertips. Paint me a picture of absolution and selfless joy, and from a cloud-shadow's shade my eyes will reflect the sun-streaks shimmering through bluest-water skies.

If you don't mind Jadi, this thirsty pard will take a shot of that sky at least two jiggers worth.

:gasp: You know about that colour too! My sister and I used to call that mottled peach colour you get on clouds at sunset by that name. I'm guessing we're talking about the same thing. Lovely piece.

Despite all the hardships that life can throw at us, they're so easily compensated for by simple pleasures such as staring up at the sky in all its majesty as you've so eloquently pointed out. Thanks for the reminder jadi! Peace.

heheh, your poem started a cute little sing-song in my head along to it, like happy plinks on a piano.

honestly i've been avoiding reading this... because it shows up everywhere... and i didn't want to just be reading the popular poems... but i really regret waiting so long! this is absolutely beautiful! thank you for being such a wonderfully talented writer!

I read this because of the title. My father often used Skybluepink as a color ;) Anyway, with that said, this is very vivid. I like the repetition of skybluepink at the end of every stanza, and the rhyming causes a rhythmic flow. I really like it :)

a beauty...

Beautifully transcending, and yet also very deep.

this brought colors into focus through a dreamfilled sky... from the rhyme scheme to the sheer beauteous words you chose... blessings...

My mother & I also call that vivid pink glow Skybluepink! When I see this kind of sky, I just stop in wonder. This is a beautiful poem, very uplifting!

This is a poem of itself inside your poem...

Surround yourself with loved ones then propose a toast
Pour the sky into a cup then take a hearty drink
Soak up all the majesty and dream in skybluepink

Kudos to the master Jedi! What more can could I say as I look ou the window here in Switzerland and even though the sun is also rising, I see a skybluepink.

Skybluepink IS my favorite crayon now. I think I'll try to color every moment of my Saturday with it... It colored our elephant ears wonderfully so I think I'll use it on my car next, just as soon as it's dried from the car wash.... What a wonderful poet you are Jadi!

Masterful blend of color and words. Not only do you describe it, you allow me to fly into the experience, then drink it down completely. Much thanks.

Though cautioned that it could take my breath away this captivating view, I rode the sunbeams to there, poured myself a cup of rosazzurrocielo and soaking in the hues of a hearty drink, soared into dreams. Grazie, Poeta. AmoreLuce&Pace...m.a

How wonderful to see this again, and on the Top Ten!

I see this was posted less than a month after 9-11. What a nice balance to that horrid day. I know this poem is unusual in its form for you, my friend, but I enjoyed every line. In fact, when I finished I took one of those big deep peaceful sighs. I especially love this: "Suppose I rode a sunbeam." I might steal it for a pome of my own. Thanks for this breath of freshness, jadi.
