Wonder

by Melissa Arel

There were rainclouds in her eyes
and sunshine on her face

She danced with the thunderstorms
and had tea with lightning

The rivers confided their secrets
and she listened to the wind
whisper its dreams

The trees shook their leaves
when she hugged them close

and the birds sang sweet songs
whenever she bid them hello

She was a wonder

for she walked through the fires
and came out refined

Her foes tried to drown her
in a sea of despair
but she was reborn

She was clothed in compassion
and love was her crown.

You've created an enduring soul here, walking hand in hand with nature, aware of her own power. Loved "had tea with lightning."

Your beautiful poem makes me wonder about this wonder of whom you speak. It makes me wonder about those who have crossed my path who might reflect pieces of your lovely piece. You made me wish I had known this person in my real life. But your poem will have to do as a fitting substitute. Thanks Melissa.
