Love Of Lakes

by Philip F De Pinto

I suppose it is my fate
To have what it takes
To have a love of lakes

Loving one in particular upstate
The more you go
Immersing yourself in it
Chin to toe

Thereby sanctifying it
In some way unclear to me

But it sustains me
To watch you steep in it
Like tea

Which doesn't need honey
Because honey you're it!

Nice, Phil. A quaint poem for a quaint lake me thinks.

Well, just plain charming. Love the chin to toe immersing and the use of the word "sanctifying."

My favorite phrase: "to watch you steep in it." You have a way of stimulating our senses at the same time as our souls. Beautiful piece, Phil.

Simple, but brilliant. Nice work :)
