Feeding Spiders

by Linda Fuller

Feeding spiders is the worst
I can attest, though not well-versed
in this endeavor - jumped headfirst
but I won’t say I was coerced.

Feeding spiders is the best
and lends to life a certain zest
as they devour every pest
that dares to venture near their nest.

Feeding spiders is humdrum
but to this task I did succumb
and now they thrive with every crumb
of bug: I’ve got a “spider thumb”.

Fun poem and I leaned a lot too. He knew what a spider mom had to do to feed and save her many legged babe.

LOL! This is cute Linda. Having had both a life long dread and fascination with those eight legged neighbors of ours, I enjoyed this very much. :)

Linda. there is so much to love beyond the content, the rhythm and rhyme, is simply spot on. This ode merits at least two spider's thumbs up.
