Posted by Alison McKenzie on 07/09/10 at 06:51 PM Sweet! I just got done petting my son's cat. She's a sweetie too! |
Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 07/09/10 at 07:16 PM Ha! Yes....good prescription, Glenn. Proven to lover the blood pressure. Thanks. |
Posted by George Hoerner on 07/09/10 at 08:28 PM This is the cat's meow!! I know because we've had so many over the years. Nicely done sir. |
Posted by Joan Serratelli on 07/09/10 at 09:29 PM I am the "lucky" owner of a "husky". She is old and nasty. My relationship is love/hate. I hate taking care of her; yet I worry about her. On the rare occasion that she "allows" me to pet her, I do find a certain amount of comfort. To tell the truth, this dog is rather like a cat- aloof and self centered. Good write. |
Posted by Ken Harnisch on 07/10/10 at 01:25 AM My big Maine Coon awaits me at night, Glenn; lying in the wash basket, waiting for his acknowledgment, leaning into the fingering of his glorious mane, else I cannot proceed further into the house. Thanks for reminding me he waits again..:) |

Posted by Charlie Morgan on 07/10/10 at 05:57 PM ...glenn, i only like this 'cause i like you nahahahaha, gotcha. this is on a 'cute' splay; but it is deep, if one carries those steps metaphorically and intentionaly. i see this hummed from a lama. i like the notio of extension of self here, you know immersion makes us different, in martin buber way: 'become the cat', eh?...love it glenn, a heavy write. |
Posted by Morgan D Hafele on 07/10/10 at 08:48 PM at first i read that last line as pretending your a cat. but petting your cat is probably almost as relaxing as being one. |
Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 07/13/10 at 04:55 PM I second that emotion. Cats (I have three of them - long story) are great stress relievers. |
Posted by Stephan Anstey on 07/16/10 at 02:58 PM cats do inspire.. something. don't they? |
Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 07/17/10 at 04:11 AM Oh, Sweetpea... great name. I enjoyed the simple humor and truths here - sharing our lives with three cats, I find myself nodding my head vigorously when reading this. Thank you. |
Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 07/18/10 at 11:59 AM I love the daylights out of this ode. It is so wise and wistful, this sweetpea. I don't have a cat, but I have a dog who has an official name, but I call him Sonny Boy. |
Posted by Max Bouillet on 07/18/10 at 07:37 PM Nothing like gin and pussycats. ;) Great read. |
Posted by Jean Mollett on 07/20/10 at 03:50 AM Hi Glenn,
Great write, so true. Our pets really do help us, more than we realize. They do help relief stress, good for blood pressure, etc. Give us lots of hugs, plenty of Kisses. Even wet sloppy ones too. :) :)
