Into The Light

by Chris Sorrenti

for Maureen
who once reminded me
to stay in the light...

Into the light
We shall travel
To gaze at a new sun
Never setting
Embracing loved ones
Long lost friends

Into the light
We shall fly
On sprouted wings
To a promised land
Never to doubt
Or question again

Into the light
We shall journey
And everyday
It's a little bit closer
To live forever
Without pain or fear

Into the light
We shall glisten
Flashes of lightning
In a peaceful sky
Off to meet an ancient king
We his royal jewels

So beautifully expressed. A wonderful tribute to Maureen and especially to Christ, that ancient King who one day will reign here as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Reminds me especially of John 1:1-9 And 1John 1:5-7

And how YOU glisten! I love the title and the sentiment. Your dedication rings - a warm and peaceful feeling within me. I admire the way you have saved and cherished your poems over all these years, never flinching from showing off your many children to the rest of us family members.

Such a promise of an inviting future here - I especially love the last stanza, thinking of being a flash of lightning!

Wonderful tribute, Chris. You've arranged these words to last the journey. Life is the desert, life the solitude; death joins us to the great majority. Thanks.

there's not much i can say, but it is a poem wonderfully dedicated and i'm sure will find it's way to the ears of dear friends, whether they're still with us, or only watching...

It is indeed a great soul comfort to know the Word is true and we can believe it for all eternity....What a wonder to know that He loves us so, and left for us love letters...66 of them to be exact...timeless... like love... without beginning or end as He is.. thank you for reminding us.. aloha

A great positive poem It is like leaping off a cliff and speading wings to glide over the ills of the world and enjoy the release of omniscience.

This was such a peaceful read; it becomes theraputic.
