Aurora Marialis

by Anne Engelen

A touch of spring

Inner source of light

The windÂ’s kiss

A soulÂ’s delight

A waterfall of passion

Bottled up inside

So much beauty

She tries to hide

But if you look closely

Especially at night

SheÂ’ll be dancing

Bathing in moonlight

Sparkling like stardust

Hugging life tight

Aurora Marialis

A magnificent sight

Author's Note: For Maria Massarella, sensual moondacer. Thank you so much for the lovely coffee break I got to spend in Sassuolo this weekend. Italian coffee, served with so much love, just can't be topped!! I truly had the time of my life. I'd forgotton how great giggling can be **dikke knuffels**

What an inventive title for such a fitting piece that literally seems to capture the true aura of an Angel. One who not only dances with the moon, but gracefuly embraces the light of the entire universe. The Horsehead Nebula you've depicted certainly supports the magnitude of such an entity and your Orionic experience. Nice touch, Anne. Pe4ce...

this is sweet and beautiful. without the footnote, a lovely and compact picture. with it, a web of human relation.

Like Michele, this is how I pictured Maria...and then your note, Maria's comments...ladies, I feel I've met two incredible ladies without ever leaving home! Anne, are so truly gifted, genuine, and I wish I was in Europe right now.

I missed this earlier, but am glad to find it tonight. What a magical time it must have been, two of our finest ladies-poets together, so cosmopolitan and yet so down to earth real and sweet. I can imagine you as you wrote this, and Maria in the background. Ciao.

Before I even read this, I had the feeling it was about Maria Massarella. You describe her so wonderfully. Lucky you that you had the chance to meet her and spend time in her presence. I can feel her beauty in this poem - as I've experienced in the im's we exchange.

It saddens me that my comments to this flew away with my previous library, yet I am here Now in this space to share that nothing can erase the days you spent here, no matter how distant the yesterday, nor what tomorrow may bring. It is there etched in time and in these rooms of mine, as are the giggles, the joy, the magic and the wonderful it was to share my Italian coffee and your exquisite Belgium biscuits. It still silences me to tears remembering when you first read this poem for me over morning coffee and treasured is the handwritten copy, as is the knowing this in PPS was posted from the pc in my son’s room ... I can say you are ever more beautiful than photographs may capture – inside and out ... and speak of how you gently rubbed your eyes on beholding my aura . Oh! I couldn’t show my aura to just anyone. Only to Angels. Thank you, for the precious moments shared, and for this splendid timeless poem. I love each word - the title is exquisite-unique Thank you, beautiful Angel, for this and more... *dikke knuffels*maria angelina

one has only to look to the inspiration, ( Maria Maria ) to see and to know why there is much beauty and grace in these words.

This is lovely. And you actually had coffee with Maria? Or were you referring to a poem? Anyway, I love the pic and the poem magnifies it and reflects beautiful hearts - yours and hers. Thanks.
