Let the lights switch on by Ashok ShardaLet the lights switch on
I can SEE the light
Shrouded in the darkness
Of the room.
Theres a switch, somewhere
Invisible
In the realm of thoughtlessness.
The switch is remote controlled
By the AMNESS
In the realm of BEING.
The need is to walk slowly
In the SPACE OF TIME
Allowing the scattered BEING to align
The world shall STOP
WHAT IS shall flow through you
The observer and the observed shall become ONE.
Let the lights switch on. 05/22/2003 Posted on 05/22/2003 Copyright © 2025 Ashok Sharda

Posted by Agnes Eva on 05/22/03 at 03:50 AM Beautiful! My favorite so far. I love the mindspace of that room with its hidden light. I have observed that dark room often, moving reality through it like 3D puppets.. i like this advice of walking slowly through it, becoming into being fully while indenting in & thus disengaging from the fabric of time... and that grand flow of oneness then.. Absolutely inspiring Ashok :) |
Posted by Graeme Fielden on 05/22/03 at 04:42 PM one of my favourites Ashok...i particularly liked the existence of the switch in the "realm of thoughtlesness"...existence switches on & off with thought?... All the best G |
Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 05/22/03 at 06:47 PM Metaphysical proposal in analogical terms. You state it intriguingly, thought provokingly. |

Posted by Alex Smyth on 05/23/03 at 01:58 AM Ahhh, Ashok, you have captured a campfire at its essence. The warm glow in the dark woods, leading your thoughts into whisps, becoming so a part of the fire you just absorb it, and finally realizing that just BEING is very, very good. (You sure you're not kin to the Shardas from down around Polk County? HeeHee) |
Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 05/23/03 at 11:46 AM I have attempted both the running and slow walking through the space of time and still, to paraphrase Popeye, I am where I am and what. |
Posted by Jeanne Marie Hoffman on 05/23/03 at 09:29 PM Very thought provoking. Especially this like: The observer and the observed shall become ONE. Also, if one sees the light within the darkness, does one need the switch? |
Posted by Glenn Currier on 05/25/03 at 04:17 AM You express so well the ordinary union with BEING possible when an extraordinary soul slows, stops the chattering voices, and embraces the silent NOW. You somehow find a way to express your central truths with newness and creative innocence. |
