Crack! by Kristina Woodhill
Not the Big Bang
opening magnificent doors
Fifteen pool balls forced from rest
collide in smacks
bash against bumpers
angle for escape
madly cross paths seeking
six black holes
perhaps to take them away
from endless repetition
this flat slate land
these scant walls
that bounce back
limit lift off
Newton's laws reaffirmed
Their crush on planets rebuffed
fifteen pool balls
never to orbit a sun
