A Pair with High Hopes

by Kristina Woodhill

Cat swallows wind, as tandem
they rush ash tree branches,
up and up until the exhale
when cat knows he has lost
his bid for wings
and wind whooshes on
without a backward glance

lol An interesting combination; cat and wind. and wooshes on without a backward glance; tangy finish.
