A Moment

by George Hoerner

Just for a moment
Just one I’d so Love
to see you again

To look in your eyes
And tell you that
I love you and have

For so much longer
Than you think even
If you don’t believe it

Any human being who has ever loved can identify with these words, George, beatifully and achingly and longingly expressed. May your wish come true.

Your poem has a simplicity about it that is so refreshing. Loving someone close is one of if not THE main thing. The title is perfect too. Just a moment of diving into a lover's eyes can seem like an eternity. I feel the yearning in your poem for such a moment. It is the keenness of this yearning is at once painful and joyful, it seems to me. Thank you George.
