High Resolution

Feed the data into the computer
Switch into graphics mode
Suddenly Reality changes its dimensions
Making room for newfound boundaries

It doesn’t always make sense to every individual
Nor does it have to in certain minds
There’s often more to the writing and reading of language
Than what at first meets the eye

Communications sometimes can be taken at face value
Other styles more of a ‘connect the dots’
Timeless inspirations often updated in their interpretation
To be presented as brand new lines

While the majority successfully traverse
The tightrope between under and overstated
And thus obtain the largest popularity
In the end all succeed to one degree or another
In carrying out their intended purpose

I like the way you think about writing, language, and the writer's purpose or meaning. Your piece reminds me not only of your work but that of Phil de Pinto who takes language or words and lets them fly. He once warned me not to take the words too literally but to just sink into the words and let my imagination do the rest. I get a little of this from your poem. Thanks, my friend.

This piece is way ahead of its time, with layers enough to take both at face value while leaving the mind eager to connect all the dots. Great work!

Chris, this is a fine poem, in fact right up my philosophical alley. I think the message it conveys is key to understanding what a poem actually is, for me at least, i.e.not a jail in which words are pinioned, from which to extrapolate meaning, but rather a playground in which children delve and feel alive in full measure.

I failed to mention and wish you the happiest of holidays to you and your family.
