On The Continuing Saga of a Certain O.J. Simpson

by Chris Sorrenti

A Shakespearean tragedy to make even Shakespeare jealous

Full of twists and turns
every emotion known to beast and mankind alike
Love and hate...rage...

Nicole Brown
Ron Goldman
murdered not for money
or being in the wrong place at the wrong time
but clearly a crime of passion
that even an idiot could see through
the supposed unknown killer(s)
still at large

And of ‘The Juice’
from rags to riches to make any mother proud
then to prison jump suit
then to riches and rags again?
albeit having a $300K pension

Why is it?
we the great unwashed
must bear witness time and again
to these dramas
trials of the centuries
now televised ad nauseum

Where defense lawyer Johnny Cochran
with cell-phone constantly at his ear
himself later succumbed to brain cancer
after playing the race and Hitler cards
as per police bigot Mark Furhman
shooting the prosecution team in their collective foot

And though this bard still convinced
despite being acquitted
the football/TV star
did the dirty deed
no doubt
a certain magnetic personality
intelligent (?) - good looking - successful
the kind of guy you’d like to have a beer with
under entirely different circumstances

The only real justice
that he still be seen by most as pariah

Oh! the paradoxes...ironies...

A Shakespearean tragedy to make even Shakespeare jealous

So Othello like, how the whole OJ thing played out. What a shame on all counts.

I still believe in karma. But you are so right about the twists and turns in this man's drama.
