White Wet by Chris Sorrenti
Come walk in the white wet
of December’s mild temperatures
with Christmas to look forward to
and New Year’s almost here
Look!
There’s old Uncle Joe
Laughing through the window
Wishing he could be with us
Quickly now
Let’s all join in the fun for him
As we lob snowballs at one another
Amid a cover of parked cars
For January will soon be here
And the long cold part of Winter

Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 12/12/16 at 04:47 AM I really like the invitation given here, the feel of community. I also liked the sense of doing it "now" - a fine technique of engaging the reader as if they are there lobbing a snowball or two. Thanks, Chris. |
