Prompted to Wait

by Kristina Woodhill

When Mark Twain
sent me the raft from Huckleberry Finn,
I began waiting
40 days and nights
for the rains to start
filling my grand expectations,
remembering after 20
that I had read the wrong book
and,
regrettably,
had to let all the animals go.

Witty stuff, Kristina. Cool that you're interacting in a workshop environment. Did wonders for my own work.
