Oceans Deep

by Melissa Arel

Watching the tide roll out to sea
my toes press deeper into the sand
The waters flow over them,
lapping around my ankles

White foam washes upon the shore,
salty bubbles popping as if
there's a secret it wants to share
I listen to its laughter
come and go in waves

When creativity laps my feet, never mind my ankles, I am going to respond. But apart from all that, I love this poem!

"salty bubbles popping as if there's a secret it wants to share I listen to its laughter come and go in waves" - very playful lines, like the waves.
