For you, Charlie,
I sharpened a pencil today,
Chopped off its erasure,
Threw that away

| Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 01/10/15 at 03:07 PM I've heard said that a pencil is quite content to remain dull and reticent, then the poet happens on the scene and the honing process begins resulting in this fine ode. Then there is the added irony of a pencil finding its voice only to lose its head in the process. |
