When Love Is Played A Trick Upon by Philip F De Pinto
Sudden storms
We kissed them all
Then to our chagrin
The weather on our faces
Turned clementine
Sending sure signs and shivers
Down the spines of our picket fences
Indicative that we would kiss no more
In greenery or storms
Hence Love lays on death's throe
Eyes played and tricked like gates in Troy
Open to their full aperture
In which the invading bees of our kisses
Would swoop down too late
To pollinate to new vision

Down the spines of our picket fences" - my favorite lines in this, followed closely by "Eyes played and tricked like gates in Troy". Your works are a pleasure to read and study, unique phrasing in each. Sorry for the downturn in love's weather. |
