Who Said Age Doesn't Matter? by Quentin S ClingermanOld is old is old!
Can't get around that fact
Some have stamina to keep on going
Even thinking clearly and straight
But old is old is old
Anyone there knows it
Chronology has something to do with it
The years press and take their toll
A few remain young in spirit but slow down in action
The body has its limits, must rest more
But God is good all the time
Always Hope keeps those who believe alive
Looking for each new day something new
Often refreshing, always challenging
The battle is not over until one drops
And everyone eventually drops
Old is old is old
But Eternity engages even now
Grand anticipation for those who believe 11/08/2014 Posted on 11/08/2014 Copyright © 2024 Quentin S Clingerman

Posted by Alison McKenzie on 11/09/14 at 05:40 AM A hopeful piece about those golden years. |
Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 11/09/14 at 01:10 PM unlike Ponce De Leon, I don't mind being old, as it keeps me abreast with this world which is getting older by the minute, alas no poet's hand can cease or desist its arriving at its golden age. having arrived at such a depot, I must admit old age kicks butt, as youth never could. |
Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 11/10/14 at 04:40 AM My 93 year old mother skunked me at cards after dinner tonight. I delight in her clear mind and sly smile when we play together. Que, you give us constancy as we age with your solid faith. Thanks for that. |
Posted by Kate Demeree on 08/20/15 at 04:49 AM Grand anticipation indeed! Funny but most people do not look at it that way, and when someone does... well you know the looks they get! I like this poem, and agree.... old is old *hugs* I have missed you! This is the only poem I have commented, but have read many... it feels good to read again! |
