A Sunny Afternoon

by Quentin S Clingerman

I sit at my computer looking into the dining area
Sun's rays cast bright spots on the floor and furniture
Reminding me that I am hungry
In body and mind as well

I am about to pick up some devotional books
Plan to satisfy the mind, the body
Most of all the spirit.
Most of all the spirit.

Nice one, Que. We have a sunny blue sky today for the first time in weeks! It's almost breath taking and definitely inspirational.

This aptly illuminates the healing power of the sun on body, mind and spirit. Would even have slightly more impact by dropping the And in that last line; just IMHO, but fine too just the way it is. I was out and about Ottawa today doing some shopping, with intermittent sun and clouds above. The first warmer day in about a week...highly therapeutic. :o)

After several weeks of rain and cold, we had a sunny day today; and it was beautiful, made even more so by visiting the blessing of a the grave of a friend; the strumming of guitar, and voices singing. Never-mind that it was sung in Spanish, never-mind that I didn't understand the words - it was beautiful, and the sun was warm, and I was content. I am glad to have read this today of all days. Thanks for sharing, Q.

a beautiful poem, Quentin. yes the spirit. we delight most of all in spirit, albeit the mind and body are not disconnected or alienated from it, but rather form a Triumvirate and are relative to, each to each and I feel that when one or the other of these is happy or unhappy, so are the rest and it would be ideal if they were all happy in concert and pulling for one another when they are not.
