Starless

by Clara Mae Gregory

Twilight's
Highlight
serrated the edges
hard to fuzzy
and serenely softened
the form's shapely shadow
into a Tower of Tilted Tallness
before it merged with
the starless night
and the moon
pecked at
what's
left.

Author's Note: *a repost original from 2010 that I personally like.....cuz much of my writing needs work and tweeking and the way I personally feel is "meh" about much of it when reflecting back

Enjoyed the form of the poem as well as the sharp images and analogy.

I think ultimately, all those who dare take a chance and a leaping faith and endeavor into the creative act, at the end of the day, or in retrospect will or many not come away with the observation that some if not all of that creation is delving in the realms of the " meh ". And for those who do dare to delve, I think comes the realization that it is not the end product that is the ultimate objective and solution but rather the journey. I think it is important just to move things around, and not necessarily get any of those things that we more around to land in perfect order and sequence perfect but that in movement lies the virtue. What other option for the creative but to move, lest all there efforts come to a standstill. And standing still for humans is no solution at all. We will have enough of that in times to come. I think creativity is a shark and lest it swims it drowns.

Five stars for the wonderful, catchy alliteration. Fun playful read...great ending. :)

My favorite part is the moon pecking at the remains. An over-all most enjoyable read.

Alliteration is subtle, and beautifully written. So much imagery and wonderful timing in this piece.
