Posted by Rhiannon Jones on 01/16/14 at 01:09 AM Very nice. I like the image of metal being forged and transformed, as simile for a relationship. An odd coincidence ...I've been thinking a lot recently about the transformation of metal into expressions of passion. The phrase "and love was so strong as to over power any sadness that might have been born" is another something I've been thinking about in recent days. Love is truly not a zero-sum sort of thing. Funny and weird how a poem can strike so many chords at once. That, I guess, is the power of poetry.

Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 01/17/14 at 02:21 PM your poem, George, reinforces my belief that in the face of genuine love all opposition wilts and is transformed into light and ally.

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 01/23/14 at 08:17 PM Powerful statement of love, made all the stronger with the right alloys of inspiration and imagery. I especially like that third stanza.
Posted by Laura Doom on 02/28/14 at 11:08 AM An illustration of the power that concrete (or in this case, metal) images wield in bringing abstraction to life. 'Touching' poetics George...
