Something by Brian Francis
Oh there is something in the air today
It draws a yearning to my heart
No matter what I do or think or say
In any way, It cannot be held at bay
Oh there is something on my mind today
It haunts me even in my sleep
I dream of things that somehow might have been
even could have been or should have been
but they are now lost to me
Oh there is something in the wind tonight
I think that it just might be spring
My favorite season of them all
Winter summer fall it is springtime’s call
Oh there is something in the air today
I feel it when I close my eyes
An eerie feeling like that of vertigo
It makes me want to go seeking something though
It all seems lost to me

Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 02/05/13 at 06:59 PM I can definitely feel the surging in this - a nice write about anticipation in an open ended way. I also like the feeling of vertigo and the use of the word "eerie". Mystery, the unseen, but deeply felt. Thanks for this. |
Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 02/05/13 at 10:51 PM I really dig the positive (seasonal) message here Brian. Lost for now, but now for long. :) Kudos for the fine reassuring read! |
