But Were All Flowing by Philip F De Pinto
You were a jetty
I was a wave broken up
Over you and my fears were the oars
And the heart was a drum and my lips
Were a ship I dared not slip
Into your form which was the ocean
About to quicken its pulse and the prow of my tears leaning heavily
Into yours and the heart and the mind fearing redundancy
Beat once - had one notion then ceased their being
Lest they repeat you were a jetty
I was a wave broken up over you
A wave and a break which had no ebbing
But were all flowing
