Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 09/25/12 at 03:50 AM We drove through this valley two days ago, George, and I thought of you. The maple were red and showing off all over the place, the splendor of the new fall dampened only by the smoky haze here and there. I can imagine the passion you mention in S2 being a part of this gorgeous area. I love the descriptions in this and the mix of spiritual with the natural world. This a strong piece from beginning to end. Everyone should have a valley like this to visit, drive through, live in at least once in their lifetime. Thanks, George. |
Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 09/26/12 at 01:11 AM Thought provoking capture of nature and humanity. The cycle of seasons well illustrated. kill or be killed over the words...sadly reminds me of 'Militant Islam,' and what's currently going on in the world. The folly of all those who take religion too seriously, but thankfully nature brings most of us back to our senses. |
Posted by Christel Crews on 09/26/12 at 03:13 AM 'it was so beautiful there, so that there need be, new words to describe it' - what a perfect description! your reader can picture this in our mind's eye without effort b/c 'a quiet mind hears words'.. such a poignant piece - with multiple layers. thank you for sharing it with us. |

Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 04/14/15 at 12:03 PM I don't know how I missed this one George. And it was POTD. Belated congratulations my friend. And what is a valley for, lest it inspire such an ode as you have writ, which sits well in the soul. |
