Posted by Laura Doom on 06/10/12 at 10:20 AM I guess a formal, academic education will equip some to a greater extent than others in their poetic endeavours; that is a guess, so your insights here are informative for one who trashed her own :> |
Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 09/07/12 at 01:05 PM George, I love the professor's poetry too, except I know you could teach him and his acolytes a thing or two about a thing or two. This ode speak volumes and is the great champion for making room for learning outside classroom. |
Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 11/04/13 at 01:33 AM Subtle eloquent digs at the professor is what I feel after reading this. I think you've got a fine touch for the soft slap - "The subtleties of
Your intensely
Personal transfiguration" - my favorite lines. |
Posted by Glenn Currier on 08/19/14 at 03:32 PM I myself have taken and taught many classes, but none in the art of poetry. I have a strange and perhaps a primitive fear of taking a class in poetry, thinking that my creative impulse might suffer. And perhaps that is the reason my poems will never be great when compared to poets of status and recognition. The beauty of this site is that I get to read the work of others who simply love to write and share their creative spirit with others. And that, my friend, is quite enough for me. Thanks for sharing the gift of George. |
