And I miss you

by Lori Blair

Since you've been gone
even the stars seem starless at night
so I shall name them all

one by one
sun by sun
but never two by two

and I miss you

oh, where do stars go as dreams fade
if I stand still long enough
will you hear me calling your name

one by one
sun by sun
but never two by two

and I miss you

Billions of stars waiting to be claimed
but there is only one star
with your name

one by one
sun by sun
but never two by two

and I miss you

Author's Note: if I could just find the right star...or count the exact word..

Such a great sense of word play.

The sense of distance is immense, in waiting for that ark of reunited stars...

Lori, as much as it is cliche to say, your poetry is one of a kind. Why wish on stars, which are deaf dumb and blind when I could wish on any poem of yours, which see and hear and feel and capture more than most, for all that is within me to say, come true.
