union

by Morgan D Hafele

she said,
"we have workers rights now
we don't need them anymore."

where do you think
those rights came from?

they start here.

where does it stop?

Author's Note: to the state workers in Wisconsin and anywhere else unionized workers are being threatened with being broken and losing bargaining power, i support you! if you fall, it will probably just be the first domino in a long line. stay strong

People have short memories and forget we had slavery once and that sweat shops still exist.

Way to speak up, Morgs. Well done.

I'm with George about the short memories. Your short poem makes me think how short sighted these people are.

Thanks for taking a stand in union with those brave workers. I fear you are too right about the dominoes.

I distinctly remember hearing and reading about this in the press. Morgan, you definitely capture a piece of the drama in your poem here. We must never let the politicians forget that we pay their salaries.
