2.2 miles

by Charlie Morgan

a poetic storm without words
shakes me, commas, semi-colons;

the drudgery, enslavement of
of my neuroses, for i have many;

a life walking on trampolines,
all coat-tails running from inertia.

a scrambled evening-breakfast of poems;
all waiting at the gate to my memory;
all waiting, the paper and page is slow.

i fell to earth, God's cosmos birthed me;
my parachute the thin air around me, all.

since i now know the answer is: there is no answer.
i had mind-written an anthology of poetics
from there to here; my mind's printer, broken.

A very find write Charlie. It reminds me of a book I have that discribes how a two dimensional person might try to feel what a third dimension might be. I think sometimes our mind gets a glimmer of a dimension that we do not know and cannot put it into words. Again nice write.

A Life Walking On Trampolines, dumped me right on a trampoline, really evocative...and uncomfortable. Your mind printer's broken... have you tried turning it off and on again? :)

As a fellow poet, I really enjoyed this. Especially that last stanza, and the use of "from there to here; my mind's printer, broken."

Oh, how I identify with the last four words. But this whole storm (what's up with you and Chris?) is one in which I can find myself. Thanks for saying it, Chaz.

Wow. It's wonderful to find this 2.2 @ 1. I have found myself in these storms, too and 2.2, too). Like the eye of a hurricane I have found God to be and how do you put that into words? So glad to find this (and most of all, you!) here. Beautiful, Chaz.
