Posted by Linda Fuller on 06/30/10 at 07:19 PM I like the use of clinkers (which I had to Google) and clinking, and the quick turn when one reaches "ash" - I like you shining right back at the sun. |
Posted by George Hoerner on 06/30/10 at 09:00 PM We haven't hit that mark on the thermometer yet although it lies and scares us when it sits in the sun and says it 124 in mid afternoon. Good write lady. The humidity stays rather high here so you can't work much outside unless you take frequent breaks. |

Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 06/30/10 at 10:16 PM This is just wonderful. Your language radiates with the day you speak of. Summer afternoon- summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language. Delighted. Thanks. |

Posted by Therese Elaine on 07/01/10 at 01:52 AM Nature offers us some of the best protection against Nature!! This has the feel of heat ripples and cool relief in a yearly seasonal tradition I've never been too fond of!! |
Posted by Joan Serratelli on 07/01/10 at 08:10 PM I sit in the shade. This piece is a beautiful read on a beautiful Summer day. |
Posted by Glenn Currier on 07/03/10 at 02:42 AM I love the human response to the sun and those who would burn like it, as if to say it will not conquer the spirit. Creative weaving of imagery and human grit. Thanks my friend. |
Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 07/04/10 at 04:35 PM Something we all have to deal with in these days of ozone depletion and high UV; refreshing, exemplary fleshing out (pardon the pun) of subject, Kris. Personally, except for just a few minutes at a time (to get my natural vitamin D), I avoid exposure as much as possible. :o) |
