this day is mine

by Kristina Woodhill

you can write your own poem today

today the spaces you fill is up to you

the lines you curve or go under or end up in

are yours alone

I have a pocket full of my own letters

today, my own snow falling,

and standing here trying to give you

even a glimmer of what just one

sparkle of just one snowflake is all about.....

not today

There was a snow storm in my part of the world yesterday. I do not like the snow. You make it feel so inviting. I love your word choice. You images are so real. Great write-thank you!

Kristina -I love this -it's a bit of poetic defiance and sass combined with some simple but effective imagery and you pared it down for maximum impact!!! You're right -we'll tend to our own poems, you have a brandy!

You definitely deserve your own day with poems like that.

Wow. To write about not being able to write about what's happening to you, the wonder of it...that says something about the indescribable magic you must be feeling. Brilliant!

I can relate. Some days I just want to settle into my space and experience the sparkle and not concern myself about whether someone else sees it or cares about it or likes it. Thanks for your sentiment and for giving us just a peek into your very own space... even on your very own day.

Very nicely put. Stealing time for our writing.
