heard poetry

by Kristina Woodhill

"I know him so well,
said the girl playing with friends,
I can spell his name!"

08/04/2009

Author's Note: Heard while walking in Washington Park out of Anacortes, WA this past week. A large group of children with large hearts.

Aren't children the best poetry, written or spoken, ever? Loved this.

Saved better that any video or audio recording could do justice, immortalized poetically. There's such beauty all around our traveled paths, if we have attentive eyes and ears we can catch them hiding among such familiar things, no matter how commonplace the guise may be. Thanks for this!

Great write Kristina. Observation with eyes and ears is they greatest creative gift humans have. Nicely done!

...kristina, what a "Holy" moment of innocence...i'm envious of your capture...love it when that happens...

The part I like is visioning you walking in that park, noticing and listening to those children. And I agree with what Charlie said above about a holy moment of innocence.

Ditto to what has been written. A memorable moment captured for all time.

to read this wee poem is to adore it in a big way, Kristina. It says it all in the glint of a few words.

Out of the mouths of babes, comes the truth. Great observation. Great read! Thanks.

I just had to read some of your work again to get my head around your style and back to pathetic.org. I've been away awhile and good to see you in your words. What a fine example this is!
