Along and Alone

by Alison McKenzie

Onward little warrior girl,
To the groove,
To the west,
Wish I could dip south a bit,
But that'll have to wait.

The wind in my hair
Is the only caress
I need.

And I'm dancing to the beat
Of my feet landing on solid ground,
Check'n my map,
Humming a little tune
Skippin' along and alone.

And alone it is.
And it's gonna be alright.
Ya.
It's gonna be alright.

Wow! How delightful this is. It speaks a free and connected spirit and makes me want to run outside and be experience the wind. However, the few hairs that still remain on my old head probably provide minimum stimulation. Thanks for this lovely, lovely poem and I affirm you for your self affirmation.

Well, I like this! It sounds alot like a tune that needs singing. And believe it or not, after 28 years of marriage, your poem sounds rather appealing to me, whereas, "alone" is not the same as "lonely".Before I married, I was quite the loner myself, but I liked it that way....and I did whatever I wanted to do and there was bliss in my own self-centeredness. Alas, nothing stays the same, though, and I feel something really really wonderful is about to happen to you as your new travels begin. ok, I'll shush my rambling mush. love ya

As they say, "you go girl!!". It sounds like you're on your way to where ever you want to go as it should be. Well done!

Catchy title...catchy little nugget of a poem. Good affirmation for singles, whenever and wherever.

You give a child-like free feeling to a deeply adult realization. Love it!
