Slow Fade

by Lori Johnson

In a world of iridescence,
she grapples
for the other side of green.

Black
and fading,
Caught in the undertow.

She begs the question,
Why, oh why
am I so blue?

Might be the surroundings. Never know. Nicely done.

Sometimes the heart just seems heavier than others. Nicely written Lori. And it is the other side of colors we need to look at once in a while.

Green and blue - my favorite color combination - but always somewhere below the surface the darkness lurks and threatens. Poetry is the pill that floats the psyche - thanks for taking it.
