innit

by Kristina Woodhill

i love this world
with everything innit
the fudge and the sludge
and the tick of each minnit

i love the smidgeons
the grandiose mountains
the small and the tall
sharing lemonlime fountains

i've swum some down under
and challenged my breathing,
and found deep in caves
can believe without seeing

my toes have dipped oceans
my heels have hiked hills,
kind hands I have held
sharing humankind thrills

I'm totally smitten
by ladders for climbing
if cherries are waiting
or apples are pie-ning

as denizens go
i must follow my friend*
where kittizens' pause
and no purring pretends

i soar over borders
invisibly framed
invisibly inked
by divisible brains

i shall tippy-toe by
i shall leap frog those thoughts
that alleviate peace
that are obstaclebots

though legions of lesions
might oozily sneer
this skin might be wrinkled
but it's still glass clear

i love this world
with everything innit

When is the last time I told you you're a gem of a writer? Your play and seriousness with words is purely essential to my well-being! And kudos to Philip, a most magnificent inspirer!

I love the depth of this whimsy. And I found it to be a perfect response to the "citizen of the world" thread.

This is just amazing. So much life in these words! I wouldn't call any poem a masterpiece, but this one is dangerously close.
