Ground Hog Haiku

by Charles E Minshall

Animalistic
Shadow determines weather,
Rather foul or fair.

Number 2

Animalistic
Shadow determines whether
Weather foul or fair.

Author's Note: Number 2 I sent to our local newspaper and they printed it in the paper.....CharMin

Groundhogs day has a new meaning for me because my grandson was born last year during an Iowa Blizzard so weather was foul and the day was fair so I love your ku and the day as well. smh

Oh, yes, that first line! Very clever.

Charlie omg! Animalistic ~ are you sure this word is legal? ;)

Briefly, aptly descriptive.

I like both versions Charlie, especially how in the second you use both spellings and meanings of weather/whether. Putting the quirkiness of the English language to good use.

You're an animal, Charmin. I like 'em both. The second one is an interesting interaction of wordiness. It's perfect!

Great write. Think the second the more "scientific"! *smile*

That second one IS perfect. The first one is so perfect I am still working on pluming its depths. Sometimes you are deceptively profound, Chaz.
