| Posted by David Hill on 11/21/08 at 12:15 AM Exactly right. Of course, we used zillion as kids. Eleventy zillion, to be precise.
I like that the use of the letters doesn't sound forced, and the message reminds the reader that trillion remains unfathomable. |
| Posted by George Hoerner on 11/21/08 at 12:40 AM For me it has always been X/0=? This is really much more cute though. If you want to really enjoy math try reading 'Flatterland'. It is a update to 'Flatland' which was published some time ago. It is a multi-dimensional travel log by a one dimensional character. |
| Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 11/21/08 at 04:56 AM I think you definitely captured a good sense of the kind of wonder most of us just don't have the capacity for any longer. Well said. |

| Posted by Anita Mac on 11/22/08 at 03:40 AM It seemed so innocent and whimsical kept out of context. lol I dig it either way, though. |

| Posted by Laura Doom on 11/24/08 at 05:38 PM Fortunately it's not 'real' money, so I guess the scenario remains authentic - the immature playing with imaginary figures (?) Beat them with a cross stick perhaps... |
| Posted by Laura Doom on 11/24/08 at 05:51 PM Rewind - that should have begun 'Unfortunately...' If it was 'real' money, those stats would be unattainable. And unfortunate, because tax payers would not otherwise be burdened with the future bailing out of myopic government/political institutions, which are notoriously incompetent when it comes down to managing budgets... |
| Posted by Paul Lastovica on 11/25/08 at 05:36 PM i believe kids these days say gazillion...I would have to ask my nieces =P A trillion is still pretty darned hard to grasp either way. |
| Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 12/05/08 at 05:45 PM Captivating reflection and reminiscence Kristina. Excellent title also, as how can any of us truly relate to such a high number??? |
