Food not =2 happiness

by Glenn Currier

I need food to live
but not to be happy.

Author's Note: I'm not at all sure this qualifies as a poem, but it just showed up when I woke up this morning... so I thought I would share it. It DOES contain a truth I need to remember as my girth fails to contract.

okay... it seems like a poem to me, and also a truth to be remembered. I recently quit smoking... and can identify with both the poem, and the authors note!

Me thinks anything that expresses the human soul regardless of number of lines qualifies Glenn. Reminds me of how at times I see eating more as a chore than a pleasure, though there's still lots of pleasure once the preparation's done.

Hi Glenn, Good one. Just like food for our bodies. Food for our soul. It's not bad at all. :)

I have to laugh at your author's note about "girth" and "contract" - I'm thinking I need to re-negotiate my girth contract - there's got to be a clause on "size to be expected after 40" in there I missed. ;)

That is the eating motto I've lived by. I eat to live--not live to eat! Pithy and true!
