Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 07/03/08 at 10:58 PM Terrific! A nice mix of feelings here - I love the "winding through the grass", "hunting for a convert". Neat to read from '78! |
Posted by Glenn Currier on 07/04/08 at 03:29 PM Your poem speaks powerfully of the creative spirit leaping with wildness from the poet's within. Great response to the challenge! |

Posted by Nancy Ames on 07/10/08 at 12:55 AM This is so good, Chris, beautiful structure and imagery - and the point being, I take it, that poetry is not tame. |
Posted by Julie Adams on 07/14/08 at 12:22 PM I think the next best thing to writing poetry is reading what other people think about it, and your interpretations here are poignant and evocative...loved the "let them rock n' roll together" and later "read the fireworks"...the last line is great too b/c it is so simply stated despite the imagery that belies that "only poetry"comment only a few lines and stanzas before it... |
Posted by Julie Adams on 07/14/08 at 12:25 PM (oops, hit return but wasn't finished)...anyway, great piece, a favorite already...ur poetic response is "majestic as a tiger"...a pleasure to read, peace, jewels |
