chocolate cake in the dark by Mary Frances Spencera bunch of poets
savoring slices
chocolate cake
in the dark
somehow smacks of
guilt-free decadence
taste
creamy rich
luxurious
on lips
sweet
our pens
swirl
saturday afternoon workshop
in a dimly lit
back room
we are
writing
about
women

Posted by Glenn Currier on 11/27/07 at 05:54 AM poets, chocolate, pens, swirls... all kinds of possibilities there and then mix in that female energy and it becomes downright volatile. Evocative poem, Mary Frances. |
