Under Cover

by Kristina Woodhill

For you will never see me
lay spread eagle on these sheets

you'll never read me
legs entwined aswirl in lusty steam

I'll never let you spy me
leaving lacy trails and such

of under cover garments
redly satined trimmed with dreams

I won't allow the boa's feathered
tickle on your skin

nor the thrashing of
an animal on fire in jungled heat

the wrappings of sweet chocolate
I won't unwrap for you

and certainly won't let you
taste the melt as smeared lips meet

there are no pens and bits
of scented parchment close to hand

no cameras turned on
no recorders' mics placed near

the only eyes to see
what enraptures him and me

are closed
as soft deep kisses
seal again this vow of we
away from scrutiny
and under cover

beautifully secreted, full of tantalizing, exotic, seductive imagery, hidden deeply "under cover" ... in my favorites.

Love "boa's feathered tickle"! Sweet! MFS

I love the way you have trimmed each dream-image to sensualspeak all that one will never 'see' and yet one does ... under cover ... sublime, the kiss! ... *m.a

Mercy! I had to find a paper towel to wipe the steam from my screen to reply. This is awesome. Makes my previous antsy for 5:00 seem smothered. Wonderful writing!

In other words, no cameras or better "keep it private." Wonderfully expressed through carefully chosen and constructed poetics.

Amen. It should need no spotlights or directors or players crying "cut." Thank you for this reminder, Kristina.

Nicely turned - I really like how you defiantly deny us the keyhole and yet let us imagine with sensual imagery - provocative yet demure - great imagery too.... d:-)

My favorite lines: "seal again this vow of we/ away from scrutiny" Bruce said it best. The translucent veil you place over your intimacy invites us in just far enough to whet the imagination. Well done.
