| Posted by Mara Meade on 11/20/06 at 02:06 AM "slappine each other silly on the back of our imagined survival." THAT line leaves me gasping for air because it is so powerful... |
| Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 11/20/06 at 04:07 AM Hi Jill. So good to see you post a poem! I like this very much....especially your second stanza. It leaves me behind, in your poetic dust, alright! Thanks. |
| Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 11/20/06 at 06:29 PM The intimacy, the witty, companionable humour, the wondrous magical way with words, send me into the spell and swoosh of our ephemeral poetic dust. Yes, I love it here, mixing with you in your inventively sweet place, "Under the Whether" with you, and under your overhanging "Shalom"! |
| Posted by Sandy M. Humphrey on 11/21/06 at 07:46 PM Sometime's I just have a moment to graze by and see what has sifted to the top of what other's have penned without actually logging in. This could be one of those days but your poem has compelled me to stop, read again and breathe in the dust of such creativity. Excellent use of metaphor and repetition my soul is now singing and I shall add this to my favorites as well." and this is when and what and why we write
upon our legends shifting floor" brilliant,:)

| Posted by Soulo Jacob Bourgeau on 11/22/06 at 07:49 PM Well crafted is an understatement. "mell into the same mirage" transfixed me from the onset (along with the subtitle -- Arabic??). Well deserved top rating, dear. |
| Posted by Kyle Anne Kish on 11/22/06 at 09:14 PM "... our pens get skinned ..." ... such a perfect example of the whole writing process, Jill. Yes, I'm skinned all over, with two black eyes to boot! You penned a great one, sweetie. |
| Posted by Maria Terezia Ferencz on 11/23/06 at 03:19 AM The true art of the poet is to take the ordinary and turn it into the supreme, the extraordinary, the enchanting echoes it can never be while we are living it........You have this gift.......thank you. |
| Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 02/19/07 at 08:55 AM Ah and I, will begin and end this 24 hour day with your poem. Just past midnight I find this companionable treasure, one that I have melled into before and by one whose wise, sweet, winsome words are as mirageless as words can be in this dusty universe. I look forward to being as silly as possible all day, and being reminded how ephemeral and yet how wondrous (as here evidenced) our poetic dust can be. And just before midnight tomorrow stand on the edge of this poetic universe and... read again. POTD of the highest order! |
| Posted by JD Clay on 02/19/07 at 02:24 PM Start to finish this call for unity supports the cause and effect. Non-duality being the tenet most often swept into the bin along with those that came before. And as a result, leaving us the deal with an elusive muse and figure it out for ourselves. I love the way you’ve sprinkled this fine piece, Elizabeth, congratulations on your dustless Poem Of The Day. |
| Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 02/19/07 at 03:53 PM Jill, happy potd! Hope this will brightening your day! Take care. |
| Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 02/19/07 at 05:12 PM A fine POTD to greet my eyes on this very clear, clear spring morning, the only dust being from your magic poetic sprinklings... |
| Posted by Kyle Anne Kish on 02/19/07 at 05:19 PM Congratulations on your POTD. Well deserved. |

Beautiful, simply beautiful. You never cease to amaze me, with the way your work your words. Such creativity and imagination. It's WOW. What more can I say? :) It's a big hit. |
| Posted by Jean Mollett on 09/22/07 at 06:06 AM Hi Elizabeth,
I want to know one thing. When is your book on poetry going to be published or a story book? :) |
| Posted by Joan Serratelli on 03/02/09 at 04:23 PM SO beautiful and I LOVED the title! Shalom, my friend! |
| Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 04/11/09 at 11:29 AM the more you wing your poetic gifts sunward, Elizabeth, the more the star begins to melt
and not your poetic gifts,
for such, so well composed as yours are not for waning but for waxing as are your wings,
anchored down to soul the beat is ever last. |
| Posted by Clara Mae Gregory on 04/18/09 at 05:56 PM This is superb and speaks volumes and going in my favorites. You are a wonderful and talented writer. Thank you for sharing your gift. |
