Small Space Explorer

by Kristina Woodhill

fear not, my child
though distant from my
love light‘s
burning core
I know you still
and pull you to me
best I can
my own small space explorer

as with your siblings
small and huge
my strong arms
swing you out
we’ll keep our
play dates firm
alert the Dog Star’s bark!
hear eon’s echoed shout!

and round and round
I’ll let you spin
hold tight
this merry chase!
your dizzy games
bring laughter
to my warmly
shining face

though rumors change
the play list names
your size too small
though big enough before
we’ll still play
our spinning games
system full speed ahead!
with you
our distant
small space explorer

This is a wonderful world you've created in this poem. I think I want to move there.....

Wonderful view of childhood from the adult's point of view. Great writing.

Absolutely positive and delightful! Never read a tribute poem to a child in the womb before.

Your poem brought me joy-- big smiling joy. What a gift you give with your poem and your love of this fellow traveler. You spin a small universe of light with this lovely piece.
