Posted by Rula Shin on 08/22/06 at 06:14 PM What an amazingly clear and meaningful expression of what it means to mean. What I mean is always a projection of who I am at any given moment, who I am NOT, the circumstance, the present thought of past or future, the subconscious association or intention etc. But when, for whatever reason, I mean to provoke or dramatize meaninglessly, reacting mechanically to the external stimuli provoking me internally...I unconsciously mean I am an ant. That's what I saw. Very effective minimal, so clear and simple it is a wonder we are so blind. |
Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 08/23/06 at 01:52 AM Yes, it is all in ones perspective, perhaps our need for some meaning in everything that can create balance or create unnecessary imbalance. |
Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 08/23/06 at 02:36 AM Ashok, I would postulate that to look at something as a meaning means to go back to the most elementary category of human understanding. Everything appears in the horizon of meaning (which then includes absurdity as the borders of meaning) nothing is trivial. What turns meaning into meaning? Meaning is always meaning; for in the broadest sense, meaning is for a consciousness. |
Posted by Maria Terezia Ferencz on 08/23/06 at 03:13 AM yes this is right on...meaning means nothing if not in the mind of the intender, perception is everything and nothing at the same time. |

Posted by Dave Fitzgerald on 08/24/06 at 01:17 AM Deep. Great, and mind numbingly simple... the are a few could learn from this in todays world. |
Posted by Michelle Angelini on 08/25/06 at 05:05 AM Point of view and perspective, yes. But I had to laugh when I read Jared's comment. I've always liked the clarity of your words and the sometimes (but not always)simple philosophy behind them. You've always made your readers think.
