anna's briefcase

by Kristina Woodhill

anna,
briefcase full,
and groovin’
flagged
the elevator
guy
which floor?
says he
says she
punch the
one
that says
“up and away!”

button pushed
they start
a‘movin’
musak plays
a fun
strip tease
anna
peels off wig
and lashes
wipes her face off
worries freed

sky-blue
leotard
she’s wearin’
tights of white
help set
the mood
anna giggles
as she nibbles
on her cake
it’s angel food

as the bell
dings!
anna’s heart
sings
door and
briefcase
open wide
putting on her
rosy goggles
and her wings
she steps
outside

Fun read! Whimsical to the max...the way I like em sometimes. Thanks for brightening my work day; indoors in airconditioning, but none at home.

Kristina, this is so light-hearted and moves along with such a cadence. Yes, it's fun! Sometimes maybe the poems we don't think about too much as we're writing them are ones that come from a different part of the heart. Thanks for lightening my day!

Wonderful "elevator poem", lovely form...extremeley effective for getting the right mood, and flighty feel!Just delightful mood...just the right imaginative fantasy briefcase...for a hot day, actually every day!

Reminds me of the commercial where the woman changes from work clothes (suit) to a very seductive running/bicycling outfit while on the elevator. Lot's of f r e e d o m....! Nice write!!! [;0)~

This one is great fun. It is freeing to read. I feel the "going up." I like the movin' groovin' language.

I remember reaing this, but I don't remember why I dodn't comment, because I really liked it.I love the images- Anna doing a strip tease; the description of her clothes, the angel food cake. Fun read. Great work as usual!
