Pegasus Rainbow

by A. Paige White

A horse is in full gallop
he gallops through today
the voice of the bridegroom
calling to the bride

just for a small while
let me ride you upon my back
adoring my steady pace
my mane is flowing thunder
lightening flashes from my hooves
eyes burning with sheer grace

love like you've never tasted
in a physical embrace
can be found in my pegasus rainbow
mount now upon your steed
for all i am is yours
i've met your every need.

come into my pegasus rainbow
captured just for you
pinions undergird all foundations
in the emeralds that you view
pluck from the winds and eat
sparkling diamonds of manna,
The Captain of the Host's angelic dew
undrying upon the leaf.

drink deeply of my fragrant new wine
and while we ride eternal paths
I'll show you my design.
For you I've come
not to destroy, but merely sanctify
and dress in bridal white.

Author's Note: For He forever Reigns! This one was inspired by actually riding into a rainbow on my way home from work. It was in the car with me. I don't know the scientifics of that, there was no water in my car but the rainbow was. I had advance notice (I'm so stoooopid!) by a remarkable email I'd gotten earlier in the day to slow down and stop to enjoy and embrace life, but stoooopidly, I drove right on through... yet, as I marveled (and I did some serious shouting so my angels would know how much I appreciated the effort) and pondered on it, I saw what He was trying to show me... Then when I got into the city limits of my hometown there were two more perfect rainbows arcing over it-one vibrant and the one above paler) This pitiful verse doesn't come close.... but I had to try.

2/4/8 - Gavin has made some adjustments to the site and I'm not sure if it is permanently going to have those x's floating across where something else used to be, so... for now, I'll leave it, if it stays that way I'll delete, lol

Paige, you may not think you've captured this rainbow, but I love this poem. The vision of Pegasus riding on the rainbow and God's promises are vivid and beautiful.

I think you captured it perfectly! Things are as they are meant to be after all, and it takes a special heart and eye to see... an even more intuitive one to speak it!

Hey, the moving x's were dashes of spice in my imagination. I liked your author's comment ALMOST as much as the poem. You are a poetgoddess, my dear. Your drive through the rainbox garnered many wondrous particles that you cast out upon us in your lovely poem. Now I know what it like driving into and through a rainbow and I might spend the rest of my life trying to do find one. On the other hand, I need not wait. I already traveled there as your passenger.

what can I say, but I simply adore this metaphor. what a ride it would be. truly. to ride a rainbow.
