Boarding On A Groove

by Charles E Minshall

Digby jumped upon a skateboard
And sped right down the hill,
Then the stop sign at the corner
Almost got a kill.

Stop! The sign said
Well, Digby did stop,
The post gave him a groove
From his belly to his top.

The doctors say given time
That he might improve,
But both sides meet in the middle
Digby's really on a groove.

Hysterical Charlie. Has a certain Dr. Seuss quality to it. One of your recent best IMO.

You're too much Chuck! (chuckling here!) - I love these flights of poetic fancy...they keep us all thinking young! - RCat

Heh. You summon some very funny mental images, as usual.

I remember you when I used to be a resident before. Loved your wit and humor and now I'm back for more. smh

Poor Digby! What a groove! Wit with a message!

Charlie, I like the way you take a seemingly serious subject and inject humor. It helps me to see the other side of things and is a reminder not to take life so seriously. ;-)

Oh man, I really need to remember that I can come to your library anytime I need a laugh and a lift. Thanks for your cheery gift. Now there's a poem challenge for you... the closeness of the words cherry and cherry. See what you can do with it.

Great to read something that evokes a smile! Live on, Charlie!
